Your account and two-factor sign-in
Updated October 18, 2026
Your account holds your profile, how you sign in, and your own data. Open it by selecting your name at the bottom of your portal's menu, or your initials at the top of the screen on a phone.
Change your password
Select Change password, enter your current password, then enter a new one of at least 12 characters twice. Sign out on other devices is selected by default, so anyone signed in as you elsewhere is signed out.
If you sign in only with Google, select Email me a link to set one instead. You need a password to leave a business, delete your login, request your data, transfer ownership or close a business.
Two-factor sign-in
Two-factor sign-in asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone as well as your password, so nobody can sign in with your password alone. Anyone can turn it on.
Owners who sign in with a password must turn it on within 30 days of their first sign-in to Tendroom; if you become the owner later, it may be due immediately. In the last week, a reminder appears on every page. After that, the portal asks you to set it up before you can continue.
- On Your account, under two-factor sign-in, select Turn on.
- Enter your password and select Set it up.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, or enter the key shown instead.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app and select Turn on two-factor sign-in.
- Save your backup codes with Copy codes or Download, keep them somewhere safe, and select I've saved them.
If you don't have your phone when you sign in, select Lost your phone? Use a backup code. Each code works once. New backup codes gives you a fresh set and cancels the old ones. Owners can't turn two-factor sign-in off.
When you sign in, Don't ask again on this browser for 30 days is selected by default. Clear it on a shared computer.
Lost your phone and your backup codes? Email support@tendroom.com from the address you sign in with. After confirming it's you, Tendroom turns two-factor sign-in off for your login, signs you out everywhere and emails you. The email says when to set it up again: owners at their next sign-in, or by the end of their first 30 days if those aren't over yet. For admins and staff, it's up to them.
Devices and email
- Signed-in devices lists where you're signed in. When you're signed in elsewhere, Sign out everywhere else signs out every other device.
- Email opens in chooses the email app used when you email a client from the portal: This device's email app, Gmail, Outlook.com, Outlook (work or school) or Yahoo Mail. The choice is saved on each device, so set it on your phone too.
Leave a business, or delete your login
- Download your data gives you your own login and work records from every business you belong to.
- Leave, followed by the business's name, removes you from its team. It isn't available to the owner.
- Delete my login removes you from Tendroom entirely.
Leaving and deleting your login both ask for your password. An owner must first transfer the business (Roles) or close it (Your data).
