Clients and bookings

Bookings and services

Updated October 18, 2026

Bookings is your calendar: when you're booked, and the days you're not taking work. Clients can request a date from your contact page, or, if you take appointments, book a service themselves.

Add a booking

  1. Open Bookings and select a day, or select New booking.
  2. Enter What is it?, then choose When: All day, Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or Pick times.
  3. Choose the client if there is one, add notes if needed, and select Add booking.

With service appointments, a booking that overlaps another asks you to confirm with Add anyway. To change a booking, open its ⋯ menu and choose Edit (its title, client and notes), Move (its day and time) or Cancel booking. Bookings you add yourself don't email anyone.

Block days off

Select Block days to block up to 92 days at a time. Nobody can book or request a blocked day, but bookings already on it stay. The reason you enter isn't shown to clients.

To reopen a day, select it and choose Unblock this day. Owners and admins can unblock any day; staff can unblock only the days they blocked.

Day bookings or service appointments

When you use both Bookings and Inquiries, choose your Booking style under Settings → Bookings, then save to see that style's settings.

StyleHow it works
Day bookingsClients request a date, and you accept. Suited to events and full-day jobs. Set Booking times, Bookings per day (once a day has that many bookings, your contact page shows it as full; you can still add more yourself) and Minimum booking duration.
Service appointmentsClients choose a service and a time within your hours. Set Weekly hours, Booking rules (how much notice you need, how far ahead clients can book, and how often appointments can start), a Cancellation policy that clients agree to, and Appointment reminders.

Service appointments become available once at least one service has Show on booking calendar turned on.

Your services

Products & services stores your prices, so invoices and estimates fill them in for you. Each item has a name, how it's charged (per item, hour, day or month, or a flat fee), a price, whether sales tax applies, and an optional duration.

For appointments, owners and admins turn on Show on booking calendar for each service clients can book. With Confirm automatically, clients book instantly; without it, their request arrives as an inquiry for you to accept. You can also choose whether to show the price and duration, add a gap between appointments, and say where the appointment takes place.

Clients book on your contact page, so keep its date question (the booking calendar) turned on under What it asks for. See your contact page.

Emails about bookings

When a client books an appointment themselves, Tendroom emails them:

  • A confirmation, with a calendar file to add the appointment to their calendar.
  • A reminder the day before, when Appointment reminders is on (not for appointments booked the day before).
  • A notice if you move or cancel the appointment.

Owners and admins are emailed for each appointment a client books. Bookings you add yourself, and bookings made by accepting an inquiry, don't email anyone.

When a client replies to one of these emails, it goes to your Reply-to email under Settings → Business. Without one, they can't reply to them.

Clients can't move or cancel a booking themselves yet. They contact you, and you change it. Each email address can have up to 3 upcoming appointments booked online.
