Your business
Connected apps: Slack, Zapier and webhooks
Updated October 18, 2026
Connected apps send what happens in your portal to other apps you use, such as a new inquiry, a booking or a paid invoice. Each app receives only the events you choose. Only the owner can set them up, under Settings → More → Connected apps.
Availability
Tendroom turns connected apps on for each business. If you're the owner and don't see Connected apps under Settings → More, email support@tendroom.com. The page lists only the apps turned on for your business; an app that isn't ready yet shows Coming soon.
While a payment to Tendroom is overdue, connected apps are paused, and events from that time aren't sent later.
Events you can send
Depending on the tools you use, apps can receive:
- A client added or changed.
- A new inquiry.
- A booking made, moved or cancelled.
- An estimate accepted or declined.
- An invoice sent, paid in full or voided, and each payment (including deposits) or refund.
- A task added or completed.
- Hours submitted or approved.
Slack
Slack posts events such as new bookings, inquiries and payments in a channel your team uses.
- On the Connected apps page, open Slack and select Add to Slack.
- Slack asks which channel to post in. Choose one that only your team can see: posts include client names and amounts.
- Back in Tendroom, select Send test message to check the connection. Under What posts, select the events you want, and save.
By default, it posts new inquiries, bookings made and cancelled, paid invoices and accepted estimates. Change channel moves it to another channel, and Disconnect Slack stops it.
Zapier
With Zapier, events in your portal can start actions in other apps, and other apps can add inquiries, clients and tasks to your portal.
- On the Connected apps page, open Zapier and select Open Tendroom in Zapier.
- Back in Tendroom, enter a Name for a key (such as "Zapier") and select Make a key. Copy the key: it's shown only once.
- In Zapier, connect your Tendroom account with the key, then build your Zaps.
| In Zapier | What's available |
|---|---|
| Triggers | New Client, New Inquiry, New Booking, Payment Received, Invoice Paid in Full |
| Actions | Create Inquiry, Create or Find Client, Create Task |
| Searches | Find Client |
Zaps on lists your running Zaps, with Resume for any that paused. Revoke stops a key, and every Zap that uses it, immediately. You can have up to 10 keys in use.
QuickBooks
Connecting your QuickBooks Online company directly isn't open yet; for now, the QuickBooks connection works only with Intuit's test companies. Until it opens, you can download your invoices for QuickBooks instead.
- Go to Settings → More → Import & export.
- Under Export, find QuickBooks and choose the dates.
- Select Download for QuickBooks.
You get a ZIP file with invoice files for QuickBooks Online's import (up to 100 invoices each, without drafts or voided invoices), a list of payments to record in QuickBooks by hand, since QuickBooks can't import payments from a file, and instructions.
Webhooks
A webhook sends each event to an address of your own, for a developer to build on. Select Add a webhook, enter the Address (it must start with https://), choose Every event, including ones Tendroom adds later or Only the ones I choose, and select Add webhook. You can have up to 10.
Each webhook's page has its Signing secret (which proves a request came from Tendroom), its Deliveries from the last 7 days with Send test event and Send again, and Pause and Remove webhook. If an address keeps failing, Tendroom pauses the webhook and emails you. The technical details are in Webhooks.
